Turn the Page

It’s been so long and winter’s gone,

turn the page I say.

The chapter’s done, next yet to come,

let this one go, make way.

These two – three lines, these petty words,

this black and white humdrum page.

Makes you stay and gaze at it all day,

wraps you up in an invisible cage.

You never ever wanted to be where you are,

you never wanted to see what you see.

It’s hell, this place, this page, these words,

but you stand still, burning in the actuality.

No, you don’t want to be here and like this,

No you don’t want this way of life.

But Alas! Your mind and heart does not coordinate,

one tries and one unapologetically cries.

Torn between them, you sit as two beings,

one ready to move on, one not on that stage.

Seasons have gone, dates have changed,

but you still put the bookmark on that page.

The fact is a fact, will always remain,

deal with it so it does you best.

The book lies unread, but this chapter a hundred times,

turn the page, lay it to eternal rest.

Let the tears roll down, let the heart get easy

as you bring closure to this page.

Let the hell go away, let the demons leave,

let the mind just disengage.

It’s been very long and winter’s gone,

trust me and turn the page I say.

The chapter’s done, a better one yet to come,

let this one go, make way..
